とらやは室町時代から五世紀に渡り続く、伝統のある和菓子やです。明治時代に首都が東京に移ったと同時に東京にも進出しました。種類もたくさんあり、生菓子や羊羹、もなかに和の焼き菓子などがあります。生菓子はどれも繊細なデザインで、季節ごとに種類も変わります。羊羹が一番有名で、味も5種類ほどあり、それぞれ素敵な名前がついています。
Toraya is a traditional wagashi shop with about 500 years of history. When the capital moved to Tokyo in Meiji era, Toraya also opened another shop in Tokyo. There are many kinds of wagashi such as namagashi, yokan, monaka, and baked sweets. All namagashi have elaborate designs and there are also seasonal ones. Yokan is the most famous wagashi of this shop. There are 5 kinds of them and they all have beautiful names.
