京都最古の国宝登録された建造物。有名仏師快慶、定慶が作った重要文化財である仏像彫刻が多数収められている。春先には枝垂れ桜の大きな木が見られる。

It is the very oldest landmark as a national treasure. Many statues of Buddha that are registered as Important Cultural Property are preserved. A beautiful weeping cherry tree can also be seen in early Spring.
