国内外の近代美術品1万３千点を所蔵する美術館。平安神宮のすぐ近くという好立地にあり、館内には琵琶湖疎水を眺めるとができるカフェも併設されています。常設の展示場である「コレクション・ギャラリー」では、日本画や染織、ジュエリーなど幅広い作品が定期的に入れ替わりながら展示されています。また、展覧会も定期的に開催され、コレクションギャラリーと展覧会が連動した「連動展示」も魅力の１つです。
This museum holds 13,000 pieces of modern art from Japan and abroad. It is conveniently located near Heian -Jingu Shrine, and there is also a cafe inside the building where you can see the hydrophobicity of Lake Biwa. At the Collection Gallery, which is a permanent exhibition hall, various works such as Japanese paintings, dyeing and weavings, and jewelries are exhibited while being replaced occasionally. In addition, exhibitions are held regularly and one of the attractions is the “Linked Exhibition,” in which the collection gallery and the exhibition are linked.
