町家工房で伝統工芸士の平野さんが直接指導してくださる蒔絵体験。直径一尺（約30cm）の盆に準備された多数の下絵から選び作業を開始します。下絵は自分で持ち込むことも可能です。漆の代わりにかぶれない「カシュー漆」で下絵を描き、乾かないうちに「金粉を蒔き」、「色を塗る」。作品は当日お持ち帰りできます。体験だけではなく、平野さんがお話ししてくださる伝統工芸や街のお話も大変おもしろく、終始笑いの絶えない時間になりました。

You can experience lacquer work under the guidance of Mr. Hirano, a traditional craftsperson. Start your work by choosing from a large number of sketches prepared in a tray with a diameter of about 30cm. You can also bring your own sketches. Instead of lacquer, draw a sketch with “cashew lacquer” that doesn’t cause you rash, and “sow gold powder” and “paint” before it dries. You can take your work home on the same day. Not only the experience but also the story of the traditional craft and the town that Mr. Hirano talked about were very interesting, and it was a time of constant laughter from the beginning to the end.
