明治30年に開館した歴史ある博物館。開館当初から存在する赤レンガの壁が特徴的な明治古都館に加え、平成26年にはモダンな雰囲気を感じさせる平成知新館が開館し、明治時代を想起させる趣のなかにも新しさを感じることができます。現在は耐震工事の関係もあり、平成知新館のみ展示が開催されています。また、展示の他にもイベントや講座の開催もあり、様々な分野の研究者の方の講演を受講することや、文化や芸術について理解を深めることができます。

A historic museum that opened in 1890. In addition to the Meiji Kotokan which has outstanding red brick wall that has existed since its opening, the Heisei Chishinkan which has a modern atmosphere was opened in 2014. Currently, due to seismic retrofitting, only the Heisei Chishinkan open for exhibition. In addition to exhibitions, there are also events and lectures that you can take to listen to researchers in various fields, and deepen your understanding of culture and art.
