船岡山自体、名前の通りちょっとした山となっていて、敷地内には建勲神社や広場、船岡山公園がある。
名の知れている観光地でもあるが、さほど混んでおらず、散歩やピクニックスポットとしての利用も多い。
頂上には展望台があり、京都市内が一望できるようになっている。
天気が良ければ生駒山も見える時があるらしい。
桜の木も所々に植えられているので、歩きながら花見を楽しめるようになっている。
入り口は何ヵ所かあり、どこからでも気軽に入れるようになっているので、建勲神社を経由して行くのも良き。
野外ステージもあるので、そこでイベント事が行われることも多々あるよう。
「ブラタモリ」でも取り上げられ話題になった場所、ぜひ行ってみては?

As it’s called a mountain, it’s a small-scale mountain with Kenkun Shrine and Funaokayama park.
Although it’s well-known sightseeing place, since there isn’t much people, local people often tale a walk or have a picnic there.
At the top of the mountain, there is an observatory where you can enjoy the landscape of Kyoto city.
If you are lucky and the weather is nice, you can see Mt. Ikoma locating between the border of Osaka and Nara.
