千本日活は西陣に残る最後の映画館です。かつての遊廓に位置するこの映画館では今でも成人映画を見ることができます。映画「オリヲン座からの招待状」は京都西陣を舞台とした作品です。舞台は昭和30年代、当時の下町の雰囲気を味わうことができ、今でも重ねることのできる風景がよく出てきます。千本日活が舞台であるとはっきりと出てきませんが哀愁漂う外観からも様々な人間模様が感じられ、思わず作品と重ねてしまいます。

千本中立売交差点には「すき家」の上に動かない時計台があります。かつて、木村時計店の店舗であった場所で、千本地域のシンボル的存在になっています。
「オリヲン座からの招待状」でも当時、路面電車が通っていた頃に悠々と建っている様子が伺えます。

There is a clock tower that stopped moving above Sukiya at the Senbon-nakadachiuri intersection. Before Sukiya, the building belonged to Kimura clock store and it has been around for 100 years. Today, the clock tower is still standing above Sukiya to be kept as a symbol of the Senbon area, and it can also be seen in “The Invitation from Cinema Orion,”
