船岡山の山上に社殿を構える建勲神社は織田信長公を御祭祀とした神社で、明治天皇の命により創建されました。
船岡山は応仁の乱の際には西軍が陣地を構えたほど見晴らしの良い小高い丘であるため、健勲神社の境内からも比叡山や大文字山の眺望が楽しめます。
登山と言うほどの高さもないのでお手軽に見晴らしの良い景色を眺められる穴場です。

Kenkun-jinja shrine on the mountain of Funaokayama is a shrine dedicated to Nobunaga Oda. It was founded by the order of Emperor Meiji.
Funaokayama is a small hill with a good view so that the Western Army set up a position during the Onin War, so you can enjoy the view of Mt. Hiei and Mt.Daimonji
It’s not as high as climbing, so it’s a little-known spot where you can easily enjoy a good view.
