Movie: Randen

Randen is a train that runs through the west side of Kyoto city, connecting Shijo Omiya, Kitano Hakubaicho, and Arashiyama. The train is famous for going through a cherry blossom tunnel in the spring time, and you can enjoy the ride just looking at the view from it. Just like how the movie goes back and forth to the reality and fantasy, the train goes back and forth, running in between the city and Arashiyama. The train being an essential and important transportation for locals, it is still in operation every day, carrying them to their destinations. You may face new encounters, or even mysterious events while on the train one day.

嵐電沿線には観光スポットがたくさんあります。嵐電含め京都市の鉄道全線で使えるお得なフリー切符「歩くまち・京都レールきっぷ」を購入して1駅ずつ下りてみるのもいいかもしれません。北野白梅町駅近くでは、 本格的な中華がお手頃な価格で楽しめる 【中華料理 伯楽家常菜】がオススメ。小籠包や酸辣湯麺がとってもおいしいですよ。

There are many sightseeing spots around Randen railway. You could buy a special train ticket that you can use as many times as you want for a day to stop by at every stations to wander around. Near Kitano Hakubaicho station, there is a Chinese restaurant called “Chuya Ryori Hakuraku Jobisai” where you can enjoy affordable authentic Chinese dishes. Their dumplings and noodles are super delicious!
